A+ Content: Why It's Worth the Investment

Brand Registered sellers sometimes treat A+ Content as a nice-to-have rather than a priority — but it directly replaces the plain-text description most shoppers barely read, with the section of the page proven to influence purchase decisions the most.
What it actually changes
- Sets clearer expectations about size, materials, and use case — which tends to reduce returns from mismatched expectations.
- Lets you address common objections or questions visually, before they turn into a support message or a return.
- Reinforces brand identity with consistent design across your catalog, building trust across multiple products.

It's not just for flagship products
Even mid-tier SKUs benefit — the lift in conversion rate and reduction in returns tends to outweigh the design time investment across most of a catalog, not just the bestsellers.
Premium A+ for established listings
Once a listing has enough sales history to unlock Premium A+, comparison charts and larger interactive modules can help in categories where shoppers are actively comparing multiple similar products before buying.
What a good first version includes
You do not need a designer on day one. A clear layout with five modules covers most products and can be built in an afternoon.
- A banner that shows the product in use and says in one line who it is for.
- Three image-and-text blocks, each answering one buyer question: size, material, and how it works.
- A comparison chart of your own range, so a shopper who wants a different size stays with your brand.
- A short brand story. Two or three sentences are enough.
- Alt text on every image, written in plain words that describe the picture.
Design for a phone first. Most shoppers scroll the page on a small screen, where wide banners shrink and fine print disappears. Use large type inside images, keep each block to one idea, and preview the mobile layout before you submit. If a block needs a paragraph to explain it, the picture is not doing its job yet.
Mistakes that get a submission rejected
Reviews of new content are partly automated, and the same few errors cause most rejections.
- Claims such as "best" or "number one" with no proof.
- Prices, discounts, shipping promises or contact details inside the images.
- Quotes from customer reviews, or mentions of competitors.
- Blurry images, or text too small to read on a phone.
How to tell whether it worked
Note the conversion rate and return rate for the four weeks before publishing. Compare the same figures four weeks after. Sellers enrolled in the brand program can also use the Manage Your Experiments tool to test two versions against each other with real traffic.
Give the change a fair test. One busy weekend proves nothing, and neither does a slow one. Four full weeks with stable price and stock show whether the new layout earns its place.
Our free listing score tool shows which parts of the page are weakest before you start. If you would like the design done for you, book a short call.
Frequently asked questions
Who can publish this kind of content?
Sellers enrolled in Brand Registry, for products under their own registered brand. Resellers of other brands cannot add it.
Does the text help search ranking?
The text is not indexed the way titles and bullets are. The gain comes from higher conversion, and better conversion supports rank over time.
How long does approval take?
Often a few days, sometimes up to a week. A rejection arrives with a reason, and you can edit and resubmit the same draft.
