Counterfeit claim withdrawn and account health restored in 11 days
A rights owner filed a counterfeit claim against a genuine, authorised product. Direct contact with the rights owner, proof of authorisation and a retraction cleared the violation from Account Health.
Published September 21, 2021
The challenge
The seller was an authorised distributor, but a rights-owner complaint deactivated the listing and put an "intellectual property" violation on Account Health, which would count against the account for 180 days.
What we did
- Located the rights owner's legal contact through the complaint ID and the brand's trademark record.
- Sent the distribution agreement, invoices and product photos; asked for a written retraction addressed to Amazon's notice-dispute team.
- Submitted the retraction with a short plan of action, and asked for the violation to be removed from the record, not just the listing restored.
The results
Retraction received on day eight, listing back on day eleven, violation removed from Account Health the following week. The seller kept the distribution line, which is 40% of their revenue.
